Retinue Chess Variant

finally an "original" game (my idea, but a variant of chess, and coded by chatgpt)

I've been very into chess, and very into mini chess variants and solo variants. (this isn't solo, it's against a computer player)

I think one of my favorite things about chess is the balance between rook/knight/bishop. each unique, but maybe equally good. I wanted those three pieces for sure (in this game you pick your own team)

I also initially felt that chess was beautiful but intimidating. miniaturizing it sounded wise. BUT almost all the mini chess variants I've played are way too simple.

it's possible that the full version of chess is one of the SIMPLEST options for an unsolved deterministic strategy game. which is surprising.

one problem I alsways have is an end game with 2 pieces chasing each other for an hour. in this game you basically have to win by 2. if each player is down to one piece, they each get an additional random piece and the game continues.

anyway, imperfect, but it's an idea.
